Behaviourism
“The consequences of an act affect the probability of it occurring again,”
Behaviourism, considered to be the first force of psychology, and developed in the early 20th century, was very popular and widely used in mental health clinics. It concentrated solely on behaviour rather than thoughts and did not try to uncover why a particular behaviour persisted. It used a step by step plan of action and rewards to shape behaviour and change patterns of negative thinking and behaviour through behaviour modification.
